Duties Include:
Takes ownership for the overall operation and daily start up activities of the textile care processing service Coordinates the activities of laundry machine operators and laundry workers Sets the pace for the efficient operation of the textile care processing service Informs laundry supervisor when the washroom's work is finished and arranges to move the laundry workers and machine operators to the clean side of the laundry for processing Consults with laundry supervisor to calculate the amount of personnel required to assess and wash the linen received daily to ensure the correct amounts of linens are classified and washed to ensure production flow is maintained Responsible for the correct operation of washer/extractors, which includes balancing and cleanliness of washed textiles providing the production floor with the correct flow of washed textiles; occurrence from start-up to shut-down daily Instructs staff on proper tool usage, work methods, and routine instructions, policies and procedures Stays informed on all OSHA and facility safety and infection control guidelines ensuring they are followed Ensures workers adhere to safety, fire and laundry regulations in their duties Selects the correct linen to be washed to ensure linen flow on the production floor in continuous Subject matter expert in weighing in received soiled linens, classifying soiled linens, accurately weigh wash loads to ensure washer/extractors are correctly balanced, operate the lift and rail system to correctly direct the proper linen to the desired washer/extractor Maintains communication with the finishing/clean section to ensure efficient flow is maintained to meet production schedules Identifies need for services in areas and submits written suggestions for performance improvements Participates in daily linen counts for linen processed Observes quality of work to ensure all finished products are acceptable Reports on the quality control of work, abnormal function of equipment and/or fluctuation in work output of the unit, status and progress of work and reasons for work delays Initiates daily contact with supervisor to determine necessary adjustments in work assignments Comprehensive knowledge of operation of commercial-type laundry washers, extractors, tumble cart wash, water and air systems to identify proper operation and the procedure to shut down the equipment if it malfunctions Responsible for the correct operation of dryers, pneumatic lift system, weight carts, cart wash, dock levelers and timely delivery of finished textiles when required throughout the day Oversees training for all machine operators and laundry workers, demonstrates the correct operation of all equipment and actively monitors staff during their training phase Performs required care and maintenance of machines and equipment Loading, unloading and operating controls of machines to wash, dye, starch, rough dry, or condition items for pressing Correctly loading and machine balancing selecting the correct formula after loading Knowledge of clean side equipment, enforces Infection Control measures between soiled side operations and clean textiles; uses proper aseptic techniques including proper hand hygiene Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and free of debris Reads and writes to understand and carry out policies and work procedures Work Schedule:

Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds, stand, and walk consistently, perform light to moderate bending and stooping, and able to wear PPE for extended periods as required by the work setting. Some heavy movement of laundry carts weighting up 700 pounds and use of conveyors are required. Working Conditions:
The employee must performs duties in dusty areas, wet floors, and in biological and unsanitary environments that mat be hazardous and therefore must practice and instruct methods for personal protective equipment and evident safety and sanitation procedures.
