Company perks Lively atmosphere Safe work environment BASIC FUNCTION The Wellness Nurse works under the direct supervision of the Wellness Director and provides nursing services to the residents as defined in the position description.
Assisting or supervising the resident with activities of daily living, evaluating and observing the residents and recording any changes in the resident's condition, is an integral part of the licensed nurse activities.
Supervision of or administration of medications is also provided for as prescribed by the resident's attending physician.
The Wellness Nurse assists with the supervision of resident caregivers, medication technicians and other personnel as appropriate and assumes responsibility for the care of residents in the absence Wellness Director.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Wellness Nurse is responsible for assisting with resident care in order to ensure the residents remain asindependent as possible for aslong as possible.
Assist the resident and his or her family in maintaining the physical and emotional health of the residents.
Liaison with hospital personnel, physicians, community organizations and other health related service agencies to provide care to the residents.
This position is responsible for the care needs in the Traditional Assisted Living and Memory Care Center sections within the community.
Coordinate, motivate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise department staff in accordance with company policy.
Make recommendations to the Wellness Director with respect to staff evaluations, reprimands, and disciplinary actions.
EDUCATION & TRAINING LVN/LPN or two (2) years of college in human services or health care field.
License must be free of stipulations.
EXPERIENCE Prefer two (2) years' experience providing residential care to the elderly or similar experience with specialized dementia care programs.
